On November 21, Macy’s Herald Square unveiled its famed holiday windows with the theme: Believe in the Wonder. Celebrating our 145th year of holiday windows, this year’s magic started with colorful fireworks, cheerful holiday music, and an extra special visit from Macy’s Santaland elves. Adults and children alike were brought into a wintry happy place and immersed in the world of Santa Girl.
Award-winning designer and Macy's National Director of Window Presentation, Roya Sullivan, created our 2019 Believe in the Wonder themed holiday displays.
“This year's windows take us on a journey with our main character, ‘Santa Girl.’ Through her, we're charmed by the power of magical thinking, and we're reminded that we all have Santa’s spirit in our hearts,” said Sullivan.
The windows are brought to life by combining modern, interactive elements with an old school twist, providing a little of everything for visitors of all ages. Join us on the journey of six enchanted windows that tell the story of Santa Girl:
In addition to these six windows on Broadway, we also display scenes from the Christmas classic, “Yes, Virginia ...” in the 34th Street windows. And the 7th Avenue windows celebrate the 2019 Holiday Barbie™, adorned in an elegant gown with a red and white holiday print and silvery sparkle detail. The Macy's Herald Square holiday windows will run through January 1, 2020.
The team’s hard work and creativity has paid off. We’re proud that Macy’s 2019 holiday windows have won this year’s design:retail Platinum Award for Best Holiday Windows.
