Our Go Green Employee Resource Group and Macy’s Merchandising Group’s Sustainability Committee co-hosted a Sustainability in Retail Panel Discussion, where leading experts on sustainability came together at our New York City offices to discuss the growth of eco-fashion and ways in which Macy’s can embrace this trend to shape a more sustainable retail industry.
Last week, Fortune Magazine featured Macy’s “All Things Weddings” initiative and spoke to the great work we are doing to expand our wedding business beyond our traditional gift registry offerings. Macy’s fourth Fashion Incubator will take up residence in Macy’s Metro Center in Washington, D.C., with a year-long program beginning in June. As with the fashion incubators housed in Macy’s State Street (Chicago), Union Square (San Francisco) and Center City (Philadelphia), the Metro Center program will provide six locally- based designers-in-residence with a dedicated workspace and support through mentoring and courses focused on helping them build their design business.
