A Day in the Life at Macy’s China

Coast to Coast asked Dustin Jones, general manager of Macy’s China, to give us a peek at what day-to-day life is like working to expand our brand internationally in Hong Kong.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to move across the world and start a new life in China? It’s not as easy as just “digging a hole.” Hong Kong, China, is approximately 8,072 miles, 16 hours by flight and one language barrier away from New York City. Factor in the added challenge of being tasked with bringing one of America’s favorite brands to life in a whole new culture, and you have a life experience most people couldn’t even dream up.

Dustin Jones made the global move to Hong Kong during the spring season to take on the exciting challenge of launching Macy’s internationally in a joint venture with Fung Retailing. In the photos and videos below, Jones shares with us a small peek into his day-to-day experiences. From his daily commute and workplace environment to adventures with the local culture and traveler sites, this is a quick look into life abroad at Macy’s.
