Moving Forward with CEO Succession Plan

In mid-June, Macy’s, Inc. announced that Terry Lundgren will transition his CEO position to Jeff Gennette in the first quarter of 2017. At that time, Lundgren will continue as executive chairman and work side-by-side with Gennette, named as president and CEO.

The news of this planned succession created buzz both internally and externally, as employees, customers and the industry reflected on Lundgren’s remarkable legacy of influence on Macy’s, Inc. and the retail landscape. It has also prompted much excitement around the next phase in our company’s reinvention, and how the highly-respected Macy’s veteran Jeff Gennette will lead our evolving strategies.

As we move ahead through this transition, check back with Coast to Coast for updates as we report more about Macy’s going-forward strategy, including more in-depth stories on key initiatives in action, and our increased commitment to distinctive merchandise, friction-free shopping and reinventing the Macy’s brand.
