One of the points of our North Star Strategy guides us to stay on top of What’s New, What’s Next, and to bring innovation to our customers in a way that creates a meaningful shopping experience.
Last year, we told you about an example of this type of thinking: an exciting pilot called Macy’s Style Crew. This new “social selling” initiative empowers our colleagues to become Macy’s brand ambassadors. Style Crew members create and share authentic and engaging shoppable videos and pictures to their social media networks. The best part? They are incented based on sales their content generates.
Beyond its innovative nature, Macy’s Style Crew represents Macy’s belief that our colleagues have a direct stake in the success of our business. J.P. Bowgen, manager, Business Development, told us that, “members of the Macy’s Style Crew share in this exciting opportunity to positively influence how Macy’s is perceived among their own networks and beyond.”
And it’s working; this new model saw great success through the pilot last fall. In less than three months, 20 pilot members racked up over 6,500 clicks on shared content.
Based on the success of the pilot, it’s no surprise that Macy’s is on the hunt for colleagues to be social media’s newest fashion influencers this spring!
