Just because it’s cold, doesn’t mean you can’t dress to impress. Coast to Coast spoke with Lauren Wilner, VP fashion director – Center Core and Shoes, to highlight the latest fashion trends in accessories and boots this winter.
“This year, it’s about having fun with your cold weather accessories, whether it’s embellishment, faux fur, mix and match, or print and pattern.” – Lauren Wilner, VP Fashion Director – Center Core and Shoes
It’s important to talk about adding texture to your outfit. Mixed media gloves will really help you stand out this winter. The fingerless silhouette is especially good for using a smart phone.
This trend is about using characters, words and embellishment to have fun. Cats were a big trend on the runway this year, as evidenced by Dolce and Gabbana’s cat print dresses.
This is one of the “it” materials of the season and adds a little trim of luxury to your outfit!
“For me, the most fun trend of the season is Pompoms!” says Talia Sherman, Associate Fashion Director of Center Core and Shoes. “A new way of wearing the trend this winter is putting them on a scarf. It’s like a winter wonderland with snowballs hanging from all your cold weather accessories.”
“When building your winter outfit one of the must-have items is a great pair of boots! Here are some great updates in silhouette and fabric that you will want to wear over and over again during the cold weather!” – Lauren Wilner
These boots can take you from day to night. You can show them off in many styles and they are so comfortable to wear.
"Over-the-knee is the statement boot of the season,” adds Sherman. They come in a variety of styles: studs, snake patterns, lace-ups and more.
This luxury fabric adds a fun pop to any outfit, especially in bright colors. And velvet can be even more fun in prints!
