Bloomingdale’s continued its long-standing relationship with Broadway during the holiday season through a multi-tiered partnership with the highly anticipated show, “Dear Evan Hansen.”
To kick off the partnership, show star Ben Platt appeared in the Bloomingdale’s holiday catalog, outdoor media and advertising while holding the retailer’s iconic Little Brown Bear. A portion of sales from the annual collector’s item benefits Bloomingdale’s long standing charity partner, The Child Mind Institute.
As an extension of the partnership, Bloomingdale’s reinvented the show’s traditional green room at the famed Music Box Theatre in New York City. Now known as the Bloomingdale’s Blue Room, the transformed space will serve as the show’s social media hub as well as a place to entertain guests before and after show time. Lisa Contreras, Bloomingdale’s director of store design, drew inspiration from the show’s signature color – blue – and worked with trusted vendor Mitchell Gold + Bob Williams to create a living room vibe.
Platt and members of the “Dear Evan Hansen” cast also performed songs from the show, as well as holiday favorites, to celebrate the unveiling of Bloomingdale’s iconic 59th Street holiday windows on Nov. 21.
