Our Numbers Tell the Story of Sustainability Success

Developing a plan is one thing. Delivering real-world results is another. And delivering results is exactly what Macy’s and Bloomingdale’s do in our commitment to sustainability. From cutting our energy consumption to decreasing waste sent to landfills, our store and support locations make a major impact. We are reducing our use of scarce resources in a meaningful way. We are managing energy use in real time, in an integrated approach. All told, we’ve made tangible progress toward our sustainability goals.

Don’t just take our word for it.

We’re putting our numbers out there so you can see our success – to recognize what we’ve accomplished and challenge ourselves with goals for the future. With the end of the year at hand, it’s a great time to look back at what we have achieved and recognize everyone’s role in that success.

But what does that mean?

You might be wondering what exactly “cutting our energy consumption” and “reducing our use of scarce resources” entails. Well, Macy’s Green Living tells us exactly what it means. Check out some of the big and exciting actions our company took to reach these impressive numbers:

• Discover how retrofitting 380 stores with LED lighting is cutting energy usage
